IGF-1 nedir ne işe yarar?

Önemli bir anabolik hormon olan IGF-1'in temel biyolojik fonksiyonları hücre metabolizmasının düzenlenmesi, büyüme, hücre çoğalması ve programlı hücre ölümüdür. Serumdaki IGF-1'in seviyesi ile insan sağlığı üzerine olumlu ve olumsuz etkilerini veya hastalık risklerini ortaya koyan çalışmalar bulunmaktadır.

IGF-1 ne işe yarar?

IGF-1; kemik ve kıkırdak büyümesinde, iskelet kaslarının büyümesinde, sinir hücrelerinin yaşamını sürdürmesinde önemli rol oynar. IGF-1 protein sentezini tetikleyerek veya apopitozu önleyerek bu işlemleri gerçekleştirebilir.

IGF-1 düşüklüğü nedir?

Büyüme hormonu ve beslenme durumu dolaşımdaki İGF-1 düzeyini belirler; büyüme hormonu eksikliği ve beslenme yetersizliği durumlarında İGF-1 seviyesi düşer ve büyüme yavaşlar. Büyüme hormonu eksikliğinin en önemli ve çoğu zaman tek belirtisi çocuklarda büyüme geriliği ve boy kısalığıdır.

IGF 3 nedir?

İnsülin benzeri büyüme faktörü bağlayıcı protein-3 (IGFBP-3) ise apopitozisi uyararak IGF-l'in mitojenik etkisini inhibe eden ve antiproliferatif etkiye sahip bir proteindir.


Büyüme hormonu yüksek olursa ne olur?

Çok fazla büyüme hormonu kemiklerde büyümeye yol açar. Çocukluk döneminde bu devlik adı verilen duruma yol açarak boyun uzamasına sebep olur. Yetişkinlerde ise boyda herhangi bir değişme olmaz. Bunun yerine kemik boyutundaki artışın bireyin el, ayak ve yüz kemikleri ile sınırlı kaldığı duruma akromegali adı verilir.

Sağlıklı çocuklarda hipofiz bezinden salgılanan büyüme hormonu (BH), insülin benzeri büyüme faktörü (IGF-1) adlı proteinlerin yapımını arttırarak, büyüme kıkırdakları üzerinden boy uzamasını sağlar.

IGF-1 nasıl arttırılır?
